Time is obviously synonymous with depletion in ¿Cómo te llamas? and love is inherent to time. This is not a love story. It is a story about how love is transformed. It is a tale of relationship between two strong and independent women. It is the story of how normality takes over two lives. The paths of Eva and Candela are joined by a common dream. Youth and enthusiasm for cinema are the engine of a strong attraction between the two. These yearnings and contained attraction explode into passion, producing a seductive and fascinating intimacy. Over time, however, their relationship evolves and oscillates between infatuation, a sensuality that becomes tenderness, and even the quotidian. They did not want to be a conventional couple but they end up becoming one. The “normal” becomes everyday, and the everyday euphemistically masks the erosion of their connection. With the world of cinema for a backdrop, Candela and Eva always continuously attempt to solve their problems and differences and, above all, they try to fight against the inevitable march of time, the time they spend together and the one that pull their paths apart. Inevitably, they grow in opposite ways and wind up being strangers to each other. This is their struggle for survival and for understanding the metamorphosis of love.

The film was recently presented at WIP Latino, the Guadalajara International Film Festival’s showcase in the city of Los Angeles, United States. It was acquired at the American Film Market by Shoreline Entertainment, one of the most important international sales agencies representing independent cinema in Hollywood.

In ¿Cómo te llamas?, Silvia Varón plays Eva in the lead role. According to the director, “she was the perfect actress. We worked on the character and she understood the story from the script. We have a wonderful director-actress connection. I couldn’t have done it with anyone else." Alejandra Lara co-starred as Candela. The cast also includes Roberto Cano, Cristina Warner, Kristina Lilley, Luna Baxter, Carlos Carvajal, Ana María Cuéllar, and Andrés Estrada.

The film’s crew included Ana Piñeres in production and creative production, Ana María Velásquez as production chief, Sergio Oliveros as production coordinator, Nadia González as production designer, Cristina Crane as art director, Susana Jaramillo and Samia Samira Ruiz in costume design, Yorlady Murillo in makeup, Rubén Fernández as director of photography, Felipe Linares in sound design and original music, and Daniel Santiago González and Camilo Andrés Calderón in direct sound.

Ruth Caudeli co-wrote the script, directed, executive produced, and edited the film. Rodrigo Trujillo was the casting director, Catherine Torres also developed the script, and Daniela Murillo conducted still photography.

The film will have its international premiere in early 2018 followed by its release in Colombian movie theaters.
