BAM, an event organized by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce and Proimágenes Colombia, with the support of the Colombian Film Fund (FDC), has established itself as one of the main markets of its kind in Latin America. This year is the tenth year of strengthening the audiovisual sector and boosting its business, being a meeting space for the main actors in the Colombian audiovisual industry and for hundreds of international representatives who appreciate the quality and creativity of local talent.

The tenth edition of BAM will have Italy as its guest country, a nation recognized for its history in the audiovisual industry. One of the novelties of this year’s open call is the inauguration of the BAM Animation category, aimed at companies specialized in the animation genre.

All open calls, including the one just mentioned, are directed to projects under development, feature films in the final stage of post-production or completed without having been premiered, scripts pre-selected in the fiction script writing section of the FDC open calls in 2017 and 2018, or companies, which may participate in the following categories:

BAM Projects: A privileged space for one-on-one meetings where national participants will have the opportunity to present their film projects in development or pre-production to secure financing and/or co-production. For the first time, they will be part of the Creative and Business Strengthening Route of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, which aims to get projects market-ready.

Screenings: Invites films (fiction, documentary, and animation) in post-production stage and/or that require sales agents for distribution to participate in two screenings where they also have the option to choose what guests will attend.

BAMMERS: Aimed at new talents in the audiovisual industry who have a film, television, animation, web series, or new media project in development. Those selected will have access to a specialized and exclusive training program and will have access to the market and its networking activities. In addition, Shock will grant an award to one of the web series projects, financing the pilot chapter; this is a grant available exclusively for Bammers enrolled in BAM 2019. Those interested in this category must be between the ages of 22 and 27 at the time of application.

BAM Stories: Directed to screenwriters who have been shortlisted in the fiction script writing mode of the FDC open call in the years 2017 and 2018. Twelve people, whose screenplays have not participated in other editions of BAM Stories, have not been shot, and have not received a feature film production grant will be selected.

BAM Animation: This new category is aimed at companies specialized in animation production. Those selected will participate in exclusive networking activities and must attend a specific training program. As in other categories, the most outstanding companies will be awarded prizes by BAM and its allies to strengthen their projects.

The first publication of results will take place from April 15 to 20 and the people or companies that apply to the call must register exclusively through the online platform.
