1. Evolution of Colombian Film Market
- The number of admissions in 2013 grew by 5.95% over the previous year for a total of 43,278,909.
- Attendance during 2013 (admissions per capita) grew by 4.55% over 2012.
- The first semester of 2013 exceeded the second semester by 3.48%.
- Exchange rate December 2013: $1,868.90 (3.93% over 2012 average of $1,798.23)
Colombian box office revenue in 2013 rose by 7.39% over 2012.
- A total of 244 films were released in 2013, 31 more than in 2012.
- A total of 361 films screened in 2013, including re-releases and festivals and exhibition screenings.
- During 2013, a total of 17 Colombian films were released, six fewer than in 2012, which marked an all-time high for national releases.
- The share of national films in the total number of releases in 2013 reached 7%.
- The total number of theater screens grew by 86 in 2013 over 2012.
- Film attendance throughout Colombian cities continued to grow in 2013.
- A total of 17,855,077 spectators attended films in Bogotá, the city with the largest number of spectators.
- The number of admissions in Bucaramanga grew by 500,000 and in the rest of the country (Other cities) by approximately 1,000,000 in 2013 compared to the previous year.
