1. Evolution of Colombian Film Market




  • The number of admissions for the first half of 2014 rose 5.84% compared to the first half of 2013, for a total of 23,291,333 admissions.




  • During the first half of 2014 the attendance rate (spectators / inhabitants) grew 4.64% compared to 2013.




  • The number of admissions in the first half of each year was on average 50% of total annual number of admissions.




  • Box office receipts in pesos in the first half of 2014 exceeded those of 2013 by 16,563,698,007 pesos.
  • Box office receipts in pesos in the first half of 2014 exceeded those of 2013 by US$ 8,772,680.




  • In the first half of 2014, 116 films were released, 11 more than in 2013.




  • In the first half of 2014, 9 Colombian films were released, 3 more than in the first half of 2013.




  • In the first half of 2014, Colombian films accounted for 7.8% of the total number of releases, i.e., 2.1% more than in the first half of 2013.




  • The number of screens rose by 84 between the first half of 2013 and the fist half of 2014.




  • In the first half of 2014 there was an increase in film attendance compared to the first half of 2013. This increase was seen in all cities except Bogota, where attendance declined by 0.41% (37,714). However, Bogota remained in the top spot for attendance, with 9.134.886 admissions.
  • In the rest of the country (Resto) attendance increased by 964,032 viewers.
