1. Evolution of Colombian Film Market


  • Admissions in the first half of 2015 grew by 30.51% compared to the first half of 2014, for a total of 30,398,902 admissions.



  • In the first half of 2015, the number of admissions per person grew by 29.04% compared to 2014.



  • The number of admissions in the first half of 2015 is the highest in the past nine years.



  • Box office receipts in 2015 exceeded 2014 revenues by 60,110,272,320 pesos, the equivalent of 23,527,078 US dollars. The average exchange rate increased by 35% from 2014 to 2015.



  • In the first half of 2015, 155 films were released, 39 more than in 2014.



  • In the first half of 2015, 15 Colombian films were released, 6 more than in the first half of 2014.



  • In the first half of 2015, Colombian films accounted for 9.7% of the total number of releases, i.e., 1.9% more than in 2014.



  • The number of screens increased by 73 in the first half of 2015 compared to the first half of 2014.



  • Film admissions in the five major cities continue to rise. There was also significant growth in admissions in "All Others" – a 3.81% increase from the first half of 2014 to the first half of 2015.
