Synopsis

This documentary follows during five years the experience of displacement and the local peace process in one of the most violent regions of Colombia - the Urabá in Chocó Department. The Peace Communities San Francisco de Asís are an experiment of local development and neutrality against the armed actors that fight for the control of this strategic territory. These five years of history have left as a result 62 people from the Peace Communities killed by the guerrilla group FARC and the AUC and a list of agreements¸ unfulfilled by the estate¸ that has not solved the situation of historic abandonment of the region; but these five years have also shown a history of resistance and strength by the members of a community who try to build their life projects as peasants from the region in order to be able to make them come true in peace.
