Rocío returns from the city to her hometown in the Colombian countryside to look for her mother, whom she has not heard from since she was a young girl. There is a past to uncover and Rocío must decipher it from her mother Alba, who has not spoken since the murder of Rocío’s father. In response to her questions, Rocío receives only silence from her Alba. This prompts Rocío to look for answers elsewhere, particularly in an old game that she played with her mother when she was a child where they would bury or hide objects in the form of religious offerings to ask for certain wishes to come true. As Rocío unearths these long lost objects, she finds clues to the questions she arrived with. They are questions about her past, but also about her future; Rocío is pregnant and deliberating whether to keep the child. Alba, on the other hand, has silently created a fantastical world as a way to overcome the pain of her loss. Day after day, she constructs a nest of cloth and yarn to hatch an egg of a bird, whose gentle song, she believes, carries the promise to keep Rocío and her progeny safe.

While he was in prison for drug trafficking in Barcelona, Hernando Toro began his career as a photographer. For more than a decade, and from a cell that he turned into a professional studio, Hernando took thousands of portraits of people who, like him, lived behind bars. Criminals, murderers, guilty and innocent posed in front of his lens and were part of an unexpected work that celebrates the "grotesque" and reveals the beauty of the marginal. His camera became the mental escape for many, because thanks to photography they reached moments of deep freedom. Despite the richness of his work and having managed to exhibit in emblematic galleries in Europe while he was deprived of his freedom, much of Toro's archive was forgotten once he was outside the jail. 25 years later this documentary recovers his negatives and explores not only his paths, but also part of the unpublished archive that becomes an important element to understand the dynamics of a prison such as Barcelona ones. During this process the activated memories, their irreverent stories and the authenticity of their portraits, contrast with a present in which loneliness and anonymity seem to surround him. What we began years ago as a question for the past, has become in the sighting of the last years of this magnificent artist. In this process, the construction of a friendship between the directors and the character, gradually became the guiding thread of the evolution of this film.

In the near future, Humanity builds an artificial Square Paradise on the surface of the Moon, which can only be reached if each one has the appearance and the way of thinking of a square. To achieve this goal, people use “squareism machines": presses, corrective devices and cosmetic surgeries that mold their bodies like cubes and close their minds to questioning. Peter Press, probably the most obsessed citizen to fit in that world, has been living with a press in his head for 20 years and has just completed his squareism process. About to get the passage to the Moon, an incident forces him to take the press off, and observes a different form. The new shape shakes the foundations of its doctrine and jeopardizes its entrance to the precious Eden. Hoping that there is still a place for him in the Square Paradise, Peter climbs to the Moon on his own. The journey makes him discover that The Other Shape housed inside him is the last vestige of his individuality. Since Peter is the last man to complete the Square Paradise, he must decide whether to enter it, or accept his true nature.

Adapted from the original novel by acclaimed Colombian author Tomas Gonzalez, and based on true events in the author’s own life, the film is set in the late 1970s in a remote, dramatic stretch of the Colombian coast. J and Elena, an idealistic, rebellious young couple from Medellin, dream of escaping the city for a life in a tropical, untouched spot on the Pacific coast. They have spent their last savings on buying a dilapidated finca, a smallholding where they can live off the land. Once there, however, this dream slowly begins to disintegrate. Unrelenting heat, humidity, and torrential rain eke away at the couple’s best efforts to make a success of the farm, and there ways of living on this land, with the locals, that J and Elena don’t understand. Isolated from the community, from each other, and increasingly from their own sense of self, an atmosphere of violence descends over this virgin beach, leading the couple on a downward spiral.

The only thing I have of Ana Rosa, my paternal grandmother whom I did not know, is a photo I found in the bottom of a drawer when my parents died. There was seldom any mention of her in the family. My father never talked about her, nor my psychiatrist uncle, her son. But I was told many times that I resembled her. Afterwards, I was told that she was «crazy». That they had lobotomized her… The rest is a mystery that I want to unveil: I want to know who she was and why they committed that brutal act against her.

Fidel Castro has died. A law that for more than half a century prohibited the free sale of houses is now repealed. In the midst of this turbulent and uncertain context, we are guided by Gretel, someone who believes he knows how to assertively sell the properties, without emotional considerations. Along with it we enter spaces that are far from being marketable objects, being in reality objects full of affections and stories. In parallel, Deisy and Hassan, a mother and her son, both musicians, undertake a journey to the origin of their memories in the father's house, "Villa Deisy", a place they now long for in the middle of a tiny apartment of social interest. Like these realities that we already live daily in the rest of the continent, but that people in Cuba are now beginning to understand. In this way, we and our characters live an encounter between the past and the future of the island, an experience mediated by the value of objects, memory and the sense of home.
