BAM Fifteen Winners

The 15th edition of the Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM) ended with its closing ceremony on July 12th. Nearly 40 awards were presented, recognizing the excellence of projects in various categories, including film projects, animation, series, screenings, shorts, stories, and bammers.

Hermanos por accidente and La primera vez on Netflix

The documentary Hermanos por accidente (Brothers by Accident), about the case of twins swapped at birth, reached fourth place in Netflix's non-English language ranking worldwide. Meanwhile, the second season of La primera vez (The First Time) arrived on the platform on July 10.

Colombian presence at FIDMarseille

The 35th edition of the Marseille International Film Festival took place with the world premieres of Andrés Jurado's Bienvenidos conquistadores del espacio interplanetario y sideral (Welcome Conquerors of Interplanetary and Sidereal Space) and Colombian director Camilo Restrepo's La Chambre d'ombres (The Room of Shadows). Paula Rodríguez Polanco's Malpaís (Bad Country) also won at the FIDLab.

Colombian Film Commission Visits Korea

ProColombia and the Colombian Film Commission met with the Film Commissions of Seoul and South Korea to discuss Colombia's potential as a destination for audiovisual production. Korean companies have shown interest in expanding their projects in Colombia due to the impact that Korean content has had in the country.

Latin American focus at BAM 2024

The fifteenth edition of the Bogotá Audiovisual Market - BAM, scheduled for July 8-12, 2024, at the Colombian Capital city, will focus on Latin American cinema. The event will feature several sessions with industry professionals discussing the region's film education, production, and distribution. BAM will host a wide range of international audiovisual industry experts and present the second edition of the Colombia-Locarno Industry Academy, supported by the Locarno Festival, among other activities. Accreditation is currently open.

Another edition of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival has ended. Colombia had an outstanding presence in the MIFA market, where two productions received awards.
