The tenth edition of the Bogotá Audiovisual Market—BAM, one of the most important and widely recognized film industry meetings in the Americas, concluded with success. Meet the winners in the various categories

The Bogotá Audiovisual Market—BAM is organized by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce and Proimágenes Colombia with the support of the Colombian Film Fund (FDC). Each year it welcomes over 100 guests from 30 countries and close to 1,800 participants who enjoy activities geared towards promotion, marketing, networking, and strengthening of the audiovisual industry. The winners of its tenth edition are detailed below.

SCREENINGS
 
This BAM section screened eleven films either in post-production or already finished. The awards were adjudicated by a jury made up of Francoise Nieto-Fong from Dutch Features Global Entertainment, Juan Carvajal from The Classics, and José Ramón Ganchegui from Somostv.
 
- Award for the best feature film and documentary feature granted by RTVC public media system. This nod consists of a promotional strategy for the premiere of the films through Señal Colombia, Radio Nacional de Colombia, Radiónica, and its digital platforms. It also includes the distribution of the winning films on the Señal Colombia channel. The jury chose Salvador by Cesar Heredia as Best Fiction Feature, produced by María Fernanda Barrientos. The Best Documentary Feature award went to La pérdida de algo sentido by Carlos Lesmes, produced by Marcela Lizcano.
 
- 10 DCPs and 40 copies of the trailer, awarded by Labo Digital: Balada para niños muertos by Jorge Navas.
 
- Sound post-production award for fiction feature film, granted by Sonata Films: Gallo de pelea by Harold De Vasten.
 
- Color grading services package, granted by Futuro Digital: Balada para niños muertos by Jorge Navas.
 
- Visual post-production award for fiction or documentary feature, granted by 2:35: De a caballo by Talía Osorio.
 
- Eight days of direct sound restoration services for a feature project, awarded by Sonata Films: Mesa de tareas by Andrea Rey.
 
- Visual and sound post-production award for a documentary feature, awarded by Guateque Cine: Como el cielo después de llover by Mercedes Gaviria.
 
- Honorable mention, awarded by the evaluation committee for Work in Progress projects: El segundo entierro de Alejandrino and La casa de mamá Icha.
 
PROJECTS
 
This category awards film and television projects in development whose producers are seeking to connect with other professionals to see their content finalized. In the television section, the National Television Authority (ANTV) selected this year’s jurors for prize selection: Juana Uribe, Nicolás Schonfeld, and Alfredo Marrón. In the cinema section, the jurors were Isabelle Fauvel (Initiative Film), Rickard Olsson (Picture Tree International), and Jaime Romandía (Mantarraya).

Projects – Television:
 
- Accreditation and flights to participate in the DOCSP Coproduction Meetings, to be held November 1-9, 2019, in Brazil: Karla González for Teología de la liberación.
 
- Flights and a direct pass to DOCMONTEVIDEO 2019, granted by DOCMONTEVIDEO: Tatiana Millán for Ciencia xtrema.
 
Projects - Cinema:
 
- Participation in Rotterdam Lab 2020, with the support of the Colombian Film Fund (FDC): Alexander Arbeláez for Sandra.
 
- Fast-track and flights for one project to participate the Work in Progress category, awarded by BAM and Cinélatino—Rencontrés de Toulouse: Hermanos de guerra by David Herrera.
 
- Participation for a producer at the sixty-seventh San Sebastian Film Festival as part of the Meet them! initiative: Andrés Gómez.
 
- Design and equipment for data management on set, awarded by Labo Digital: La casa del lago, produced by Diana Montenegro.
 
- FoxTelecolombia Award for various film services: P versus NP, produced by Fausto Tapias.
 
- Foley services, scenic design, and sound effects design, granted by La Tina Sonido: La Jauría by Andrés Ramírez.
 
- Direct pass to pitch at the 2019 Coproduction Market by Señal Colombia, granted by RTVC: Caminos de fuego y agua, produced by Sonia Barrera.
 
- Consulting for a project in development, granted by Initiative Film: Nacido del Barrio by Andrés Piñeros, produced by John Chaparro.
 
The jurors also awarded a Special Mention to La Jauría.
 
STORIES
 
Twelve shortlisted screenwriters from the Colombian Film Fund open calls were part of this program that seeks to promote the best in narrative creativity.
 
- A spot to participate in the Cine Qua Non Lab 2020 film script workshop: Camila Caballero Páez for Las cosas se pierden.
 
BAMMERS
 
Emerging industry talents held meetings with professionals who provided them with tools to understand the dynamics of the audiovisual production field.
 
- Equipment loans for 1 month, valued at 35 million Colombian pesos, for the production of a short film or web series, granted by Sony: David Durán.
 
- Invitation to participate in the Youth Award Committee of the next Bogotá International Film Festival (BIFF): Luna Narváez, Ruth Aparicio, Andrea Alba Guzmán, Juan José Franco, and Dany Sánchez.
 
- Scholarships to take a course at the National Film School (ENACC): Mateo Sepúlveda and Valentina Pachón Tovar.
 
- Finance for the development of a web series pilot, awarded by Shock, BAM’s strategic partner: Daniela Bernal for Zombie presidente.
 
- Shock awarded a Special Mention to projects by David Durán and Efraín Vizcaíno Sierra, who will receive development counseling.
