The documentary on the life of director Carlos Mayolo, follows two story lines: one biographical, the other autobiographical. The mise en scène, iconographies, documents, objects, his daily life, film excerpts, and interviews, were manipulated by him. Mayolo’s close collaboration in the making of the documentary allowed us a rare glimpse into the privacy of his daily life and to film what in effect is a documentary within the documentary.
