Bogota will host Cineposium 2022

The International Association of World Film Commissions (AFCI) selected the Colombian capital to host the event that will bring together industry commissions and leaders to discuss public policies, economic development, and the challenges that the industry faces. Between September 20th and 22nd 2022, the event will take place in a Latin American city for the first time in its 45 years of existence.

Colombia at Berlin

The co-productions Alis, Yarokamena, Mis dos voces, and Picadero; and two people in the section Talents were the Colombian quota in the 72nd edition of the Berlin International Film Festival. Alis received two awards.

Colombia in MiradasDOC

Two feature films and a short film in competition, and six projects in the market sections, were the Colombian quota in the event dedicated to documentaries, held between March 4 and 12 in Spain. La Opción Cero received the Jury Award for Best Documentary Film.

Tundama premieres in Europe

The film, produced by the Edison brothers and Diego Yaya, has been played in more than 40 theaters in Spain since February 4th. Italy and Germany come next.

Colombia, a major winner at the Platino Awards

At the 8th edition of the event, Memories of my Father — a film directed by Spain’s Fernando Trueba, and produced by Caracol Televisión and Dago García Producciones — walked away with five awards. Andrés Parra and Christian Tappan were also acclaimed for their performances in The Great Heist, a series created by Pablo González and Camilo Salazar Prince that was produced by Dynamo and distributed by Netflix.

Awards at San Sebastián

Juan Andrés Arango’s Where the River Begins, produced by Paola Pérez, was awarded the Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum’s DALE! award (Development Latin America-Europe), while Carlos Lechuga’s Vicenta B., co-produced by Consuelo Castillo, walked away with the EGEDA Platino Industria Award for the best Latin American work-in-progress film.
