Colombian delegation at the EFM

Colombia will be present at the European Film Market (EFM) at the Berlinale, one of the world's leading audiovisual industry events, with a national delegation of 30 professionals. In addition, the institutional representation will be led by Claudia Triana, general director of Proimágenes Colombia, together with her Promotion team. The agenda also includes strategic meetings, conferences, and networking opportunities with professionals from Europe and other territories. Four Colombian co-productions will be screened at the market. The event will take place from February 12 to 18.

Presence in Berlin

The short film Jülapüin Yonna (The Dream of Dance) will have its world premiere at Generation 14plus; the project People Still Die of Love (Chile, Colombia), by director Fernando Guzzoni, will be part of the Co-Production Market; director of photography Paula Moreno will participate in Berlinale Talents; and there will be a presence at Forum and Forum Expanded. The Berlin Film Festival will be held from February 12 to 22.

Entre 2 aguas confirms release date

This feature film directed by Carlos Gabriel Vergara will premiere on March 19. The film, an environmental thriller that reflects on access to water as a right or a business, is a beneficiary of the Film Development Fund (FDC) in post-production.

Comfama Animation Festival

The third edition of the event will take place from March 12 to 15 in El Retiro (Antioquia), with five Colombian works participating in the Ibero-American Short Films category and a competitive section entirely dedicated to Colombian university productions. Katalina Tobón, deputy director of Promotion and coordinator of calls for entries at BAM, will be in attendance.

    The latest edition of Ventana Sur brought strong international visibility to Colombian projects, with several titles receiving major awards. Las vidas de Marie (Marie's Lives) earned a Special Jury Mention in VS Animation. Donde comienza el río (Where the River Begins) received both the Nacho Mazzini Family / Colorfront Award and the Stone Milk Award in Primer Corte. Falso positivo (False Positive) was awarded the San Sebastian Film Festival Prize in Proyecta, as well as the Sørfond Pitching Forum Award. Fura won the C21 Content Americas Award in VS Series, and El aire que se escapa (The Air That Slips Away) received the TATTÚ Translation Studio Award in VS Scripts. These recognitions positioned Colombian projects among the most prominent at the Latin American audiovisual market.

The 12th edition of MIP Cancun took place in Mexico from November 18 to 21, bringing together audiovisual professionals focused on expanding the circulation and development of television projects. This year, Colombia stood out with a strong presence that included an industry recognition for Claudia Triana, Director of Proimágenes Colombia, who received the Industry Pillar Award at the PRODU Awards, held as part of the event. In addition, seven Colombian regional broadcasters attended as part of a coordinated delegation, operating from a shared stand where they held meetings, presented projects with international circulation potential, and explored new strategic partnerships, with support from MinTIC and Proimágenes Colombia.

Three Films at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival

Three Colombian productions were selected for the 29th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, held from November 7 to 23 in the Estonian capital. The lineup included Una vez en un cuerpo (Once in a Body; Colombia, United States), directed by María Cristina Pérez; Disfonías (Dysphonias), directed by María Camila Pulgarín and Manuela Giraldo; and The Megalomaniacs (Greece, Cyprus, Colombia), directed by Spiros Stathoulopoulos.

Colombia in Brussels

From February 20 to March 1, the 40th edition of the Brussels International Animation Film Festival will take place in Belgium. Participating films include Este no es tu jardín (This Is Not Your Garden) by Carlos Velandia and Angélica Restrepo; UM by Nieto; and Una vez un cuerpo (Once Upon a Body) by María Cristina Pérez.

Premiere Enough, Mom

This feature film, directed by and starring Flora Martínez, will premiere in Colombian theaters on February 12. It is a film adaptation of the Argentine play Mi madre, mi novia y yo (My Mother, My Girlfriend, and Me) by Mechi Bove.

Filming begins on Lactar

Harold Trompetero begins filming Lactar, his new feature film inspired by the book of the same name that he recently published. The film stars Diego Trujillo, María Elena Doering, and Julián Díaz. It is scheduled to be released in commercial theaters in May 2026.

Colombia, country in focus at the 40th Fribourg International Film Festival

For the first time, the Fribourg Film Festival is dedicating its Nouveau territoire section to a South American country: Colombia. The 40th edition of the event will be held from March 20 to 29 in Switzerland and will present a representative sample of contemporary Colombian cinema, consisting of the feature films Alis, Anhell69, Golán, Malta, La otra forma, El otro hijo, La piel en primavera, Un poeta, Los reyes del mundo, and Yo vi tres luces negras. And the short films Bogotá Story, Estamos en el mapa, La perra, Sukuá, Un día de mayo, and Flores del otro patio.
