On August 6, two new Colombian films will hit theaters across the country: Las bravas, the debut feature by Diana Ojedaa recipient of funding from the Film Development Fund (FDC)tells the story of a group of female soccer fans who challenge machismo and claim their place in the heart of Colombian soccers barras bravas (ultras). And Ojo por ojo, directed by Eduardo Ayllón, is a psychological and social drama that explores revenge, justice, and morality through the story of a mother who loses her son in a tragic accident caused by a drunk driver.
The 51st edition of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), one of North Americas most important film festivals, will take place from September 3 to 13. Colombia will be represented by three films in the Centrepiece section: "El bovino de los cuernos curvos" by Omar E. Ospina Giraldo; "Después de Elena" by Shawn Garry; and "Donde comienza el río" by Juan Andrés Arango; as well as "La violinista", which features Colombian talent. The documentary "Por arte de magia" by Melissa Saavedra Gil will be part of the TIFF Docs section.
With more than 18,600 students benefiting from the program and 424 screenings held, the OTROS OJOS Film Education Program released a report summarizing its first two years of implementation, as part of an effort to ensure its sustainability in the Andean region.

Falso positivo (False Positive) was awarded the San Sebastian Film Festival Prize in Proyecta, as well as the Sørfond Pitching Forum Award. Fura won the C21 Content Americas Award in VS Series, and El aire que se escapa (The Air That Slips Away) received the TATTÚ Translation Studio Award in VS Scripts. These recognitions positioned Colombian projects among the most prominent at the Latin American audiovisual market.
The Ibermedia program and the 10th edition of Sapcine have announced their selected projects, with a strong Colombian presence across coproduction, co-development, and training categories. These selections reflect continued regional support for Ibero-American cinema and confirm the sustained growth of Colombia's audiovisual sector.
The 12th edition of MIP Cancun took place in Mexico from November 18 to 21, bringing together audiovisual professionals focused on expanding the circulation and development of television projects.
