Synopsis
The canoe has a special symbolic value to the ancestral communities. This allows us to glimpse how ancestral wisdom survives in spite of violence and neglect. The story is narrated with three main characters: the craftsman, who builds the canoes and shares with us the secrets of his trade; the shaman, who holds the community’s knowledge; and the dancer, who tells us about the origin of tobacco, one of the seven spirits possessed by the canoe.
