Ana Salas
Ana Salas is filmmaker, she also works in the Expanded Cinema field. She has created films and installations with the same recorded images. Since her beginnings, she worked in a personal filmed diary. Based on the images she recorded throughout a decade, she developed the short film Reflejos (Reflections – 2008/2014), her first two feature films: Frente al espejo (In front of the mirror – 2009) and En la ventana (At the window – 2011, Awarded for Best Colombian Filmmaker at the ‘Cine en Femenino’ Festival, 2012), and De un invierno a otro (From Winter to Winter - 2014). She is Director and Producer of the documentary feature film En el taller (In the Studio – 2016, Best Feature Film Jury Award in the Paris Panorama of Colombian Cinema 2017). Based on this film she created a video and sound installation, in dialog with the paintings of Carlos Salas’ exhibition at The Heart of the Matter exhibition (New York, 2016). Ana Salas has developed short films that border between the documentary and experimental. Her films have participated in Colombian and international festivals, and the installations have been exhibited in museums and art galleries in Colombia and the U.S.A.
