Cesar Augusto Rodriguez Cortes has been chief of production and location manager in more than 50 productions, with 15 years of experience. He has been part of the production team of some of the most renowned Colombian films in recent years, such as the Academy Awards nominated film El abrazo de la serpiente (The Embrace of the Serpent), Pajaros de Verano (Birds of Passage), Litigante, and Niña errante (Wandering Girl), just to mention a few.
 
Rodriguez was born on December 19, 1980. He is a graduate in Film and Television Design and Production from Taller Cinco Centro de Diseño (2004). He also studied Industrial Design in the Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano. Rodriguez’s career began in 2004, performing different roles in several short films. He was production assistant and art producer in the film ¿De que barrio llama? (Tucan Producciones, Juan Pablo Felix, 2004); art producer in No todos los rios van al mar (Septima Films, 2006), Coque (Andres Borda, 2009), and Asunto de gallos (Joan Gomez, 2009); field producer in Un juego de niños (Janus Films, 2010), Tierra fertil (Daniel Mejia, Dia Fragma Fabrica de Peliculas, 2011), and La casa en el arbol (Evidencia Films, 2016).
 
As chief of production, he has participated in the short films Rodri (2011) and Madre (2015) with Evidencia Films; Singular (Hermanos Orozco Producciones, 2014); Piel de jirafa (Madlove, 2016); Karina (Janus Films, 2017); and Agua Rosa (Calle Luna Producciones, 2019). Along with Tatiana Kantorowikcz, Rodriguez produced the short film Consuelo (2014), where he also performed as production director. He also worked as cameraman in Todo fluye (Fosforo Films, 2006).
 
Between 2005 and 2007, Rodriguez was also producer and director of photography for Babel Films. During the same period, he had his first experience in feature films. He was producer and cameraman of casting in Satanas (Dynamo Producciones, 2005), Paraiso Travel (Paraiso Pictures, 2005), La Milagrosa (Fractal Films, 2007), and Dr. Aleman (Antorcha Films, 2007). After that, he worked as field producer in Muertos del susto and Ni te cases ni te embarques by Dago Garcia Producciones, in 2007; Nochebuena (Dynamo, 2008); Saluda al diablo de mi parte (Sanantero Films, 2009); La sociedad del semaforo (Dia Fragma, 2009); 180 segundos (64-A Films, 2010); and Anna (Janus Films, 2014).
 
As chief of production and location manager, he was part of the feature films El resquicio (Cabecita Negra Producciones, 2011); Mateo (2012), Handle with Care (Motlys, Dia Fragma, 2016) and Niña errante (2016-2017) (Dia Fragma); Out of the Dark / Desde la oscuridad (Participant Media, Apache Films, Dynamo, 2013); El abrazo de la serpiente (Ciudad Lunar Producciones, 2014) and X500 (Peripheria Productions INC, Septima Films, 2015). He was location manager in Fragmentos de amor furtivo (64-A Films, 2014); Somos Calentura (We are the Heat) (Monamour Producciones, 2016); Colera morbo (Cabecita Negra Producciones, 2017-2018); El dia de la bestia (2017); and Ruido Capital (2018), both films produced by Fidelio Films; and chief of production in Amores peligrosos (Fundacion Imagen Latina, 2010); Amazonas 2030 (A.P.E Stories, Itaca Films, 2014); Armero, el valle sin sombras (Dia Fragma, 2015); Litigante (Evidencia Films, Dia Fragma, 2018); and Amparo (Ocultimo, Medio de Contencion Producciones, 2019).

Rodriguez has also performed as production manager and chief of production of the feature films La vida era en serio (Centauro Producciones, 2007); advance producer and location manager in Pajaros de verano (Ciudad Lunar Producciones, 2016-2017); production manager, chief of production and field producer in La sangre y la lluvia (Patofeo Films, Antorcha Films, 2008); production manager in Postales colombianas (Calle Luna Producciones, 2010) and Edificio Royal (Ciudad Lunar Producciones, 2011); art producer in El cartel de los sapos (11:11 Films); and junior executive producer in Escobar, el patron del mal (Caracol Television, 2012).
 
Since 2014, Rodriguez has worked as executive director and producer in Vaya Films On Set, company where he has produced a series of short films, performing as general producer and art director in Maligno (2014); general producer and first direction assistant in Incienso (2014); general producer and director in La nariz (2015); general producer and director of photography in Momento (2015); and general producer in Jamas, winner of the FDC 2016 incentive to short film making.

Besides, Rodriguez has been field producer of the show Preso en el extranjero (Mexico Chapter) (Screen Colombia, 2017); producer of Videoclips More time (2010), directed by Tatiana Kantorowikcz, and Crealo mi so (2010) and Drogadicto en serie (2011), directed by Jacques Toulemonde. He was field producer in two sections of the live magazine Bravissimo of the Citytv channel (2004) and art director for television commercials La ruta de la fantasia / si estas en la cuna (Compañia transportadora SES, Politecnico Grancolombiano, Hipercentro Ceramico Corona).

His experience has led him to serve as teacher or lecturer of the field production module in the Cinemateca Rodante program (2017-2018) of the Cinemateca de Bogota; Field Production I, II and III Courses (2017-2020), in the National School of Film (ENACC); Sophomore-level Workshop on Location Management (2019-2020), in the International School of Film and TV (EICTV), San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba); and the Documentary Production Workshop of the Talleres de Narracion Audiovisual Frontera Verde, in Leticia 2020, among others.
