The Visions du Reel - Nyon International Documentary Film Festival reached its 56th edition. Since its inception in 1969, the Festival has transformed the city of Nyon into a central hub where several generations of filmmakers and artists from around the world find a loyal audience eager to discover their work. Recognized worldwide as one of the leading festivals dedicated to documentary cinema, it presents most of its films as world or international premieres, serving as a vital platform for the development of thousands of filmmakers who gather there each year.

In the VdR-Industry section, P versus NP, directed by Ricardo Rodríguez Osorio and produced by Fausto Tapias, participated in the VdR Development Lab. This initiative aims to promote creative documentaries in regions where independent cinema faces significant challenges. The program provides selected directors and producers with mentorship during the development phase, helping them gain visibility on the international market.

At the Bogotá Audiovisual Market - BAM 2019, the project won the FoxTelecolombia Award for various film services in the Projects category. Later, it participated in the industry section of the 2024 Buenos Aires International Documentary Film Festival (FIDBA).

Meanwhile, El fin de los tiempos, directed by Juan David Cárdenas and Bibiana Rojas Gómez, produced by Luis Esguerra Cifuentes (Bruma Cine) and co-produced by Allegro Films, participated in the VdR Preliminary Cut Lab, an exclusive workshop for four feature film projects seeking specialized guidance and detailed feedback from professionals on their latest cuts.

Bruma Cine is behind productions such as El tercer mundo después del sol (The Third World After the Sun) by Tiagx Vélez and Analú Laferal, produced in collaboration with Crisálida Cine. Other notable works include El origen de las especies (The Origin of Species) by Tiagx Vélez, Juliana Zuluaga Montoya, and Analú Laferal, co-produced with Crisálida Cine and Archipiélago Sonoro, and Sentí que tu luz me atravesaba (I felt your light pierce me), directed by Luis Esguerra Cifuentes, among others.

As for the official competitions, in the International Feature Film program, El príncipe de Nanawa (Argentina, Paraguay, Colombia, and Germany), directed by Clarisa Navas and produced by Eugenia Campos Guevara (Gentil Cine), Sofía Paoli Thorne (Tekoha), Jerónimo Atehortúa (Invasión Cine) and Paulo De Carvalho (Películas Auténticas), had its world premiere at the festival. The movie is set on a busy pedestrian bridge that separates Argentina and Paraguay, where all sorts of things are traded in a mixture of Guaraní and Spanish. The director meets Ángel, a nine-year-old boy who impresses her with his expressiveness and style. She follows him home. Over ten years, they create a movie together, during which Ángel must make crucial decisions about his future.
