BAM 2025 Is Around the Corner
BAM Talks 2025, the free, public event series of the Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM), returns for its 16th edition from July 14 to 18, hosting a powerful lineup of international guests. This year's talks will tackle key topics shaping today's audiovisual landscape, including creators behind projects like Cien años de soledad (One Hundred Years of Solitude), Ojitos de huevo (Netflix's Nothing to See Here), content produced for FIFA, and the visual concept of Bad Bunny's latest album, Debí tirar más fotos (I Should've Taken More Photos). In parallel, BAM's Encuentros strategy celebrates 20 years of supporting Latin American cinema with three tailored training tracks in fiction, documentary, and animation. Industry professionals can register for BAM accreditations through July 7.

Colombian Participation at Annecy
Este no es tu jardín (This Is Not Your Garden) featured in one of Annecy's official competitions; three projects were presented in the MIFA Pitches, including one award-winner; six emerging talents and two projects participated as part of the OTROS OJOS Cinema Education Program delegation; and ten companies received support from the Colombia Film Commissionaltogether representing Colombia's presence at this year's event.
Awards for Colombia at Cannes
Following their participation in the 78th edition of the festival, Un poeta (A Poet; Colombia, Germany, Sweden) and The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo, featuring cinematography by Colombian Angello Faccini, received awards in the Un Certain Regard section. Before the Winter, by Juan Zuluaga, was named Best Short Film in the American Pavilion's showcase for emerging filmmakers.
New Board of the Colombian Academy of Motion Pictures
Actress Cristina Umaña takes on the presidency, joined by producer Paola Pérez Nieto and costume designer Catherine Rodríguez as first and second vice presidents. Alongside them, the newly elected representatives of the 14 specialties complete the new board of directors.

Colombia at the Karlovy Vary IFF
The 59th edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival takes place from July 4 to 12, with the participation of the co-production The Anatomy of Horses, directed by Daniel Vidal Toche, which has its world premiere; and Forensic by Federico Atehortúa Arteaga, which has its international premiere.
Upcoming release
El doble secuestro de Sigifredo López, by Alejandro Bernal Rueda, opens on July 17. It narrates in first person the story of the 12 deputies from Valle del Cauca kidnapped by the FARC-EP, based on audiovisual records of the events and current testimonies.
BAM delegations and meetings
The Bogota Audiovisual Market - BAM reaffirms itself as a key international meeting point for the industry, bringing together delegations from different countries around the world. In its 16th edition, to be held from July 14 to 18, the market will be supported by delegations from the Dominican Republic, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, France, Mexico, Uruguay and Colombia. Their participation strengthens cultural ties and opens new opportunities for creative exchange and business development in the audiovisual sector.
Call for Proposals - Gente Convergente 2025
The District Secretariat of Culture, Recreation and Sports (SCRD), in development of its program Gente Convergente, and in alliance with Proimágenes Colombia, have open inscriptions until August 15 for the Development of an Animated Anthology Series.
BAM 2025 Programming
The sixteenth edition of the Bogota Audiovisual Market - BAM will be held from July 14 to 18 at the Chapinero headquarters of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce and the Gimnasio Moderno. Both venues will host multiple activities with national and international guests. Accreditations for the event will be open until July 7.
